Being given the award, it fully cements their place as one of the world’s leading superyacht Marina’s as well as being a premium destination for tourists and luxury travellers.
Located in the Bay of Kotor the Marina consistently offers excellent customer service along with tip-top crew facilities including tax-free fuel, 24/7 assistance, black or grey water disposal and only 7% marine-related tax, one of the most competitive rates in the world.
Much like the prestigious ‘Blue Flag’ Awards which you may have already heard of, the Clean Marina Programme has a strict set of criteria requirements and it’s fully designed to help Marina’s meet environmental goals, ensuring that vessels and operations have as little environmental impact as possible, without polluting coastal and inland waters. On top of that, it’s also a promotional tool pushing for clean air and clean water in which one can build and maintain a thriving Marina Business.
In terms of the Porto Montenegro, the team had worked extremely hard in order to ensure they met the criteria which meant they switched to more sustainable and eco-friendly products, carried out effective capture & treatment of so-called Black Water, appropriately dealt with hazardous waste material, proper spill prevention and treatment plus correct procedures for washdown, filtration and drain interception.
