UK Tourists Set to Spend the Most of Any Nationality in Montenegro This Summer
Montenegro, a country which relies heavily on Tourism (around 25% of it’s total GDP is attributed directly to Tourism and Tourism based activity) received a boost this week, as it was confirmed that not only are tourist numbers back to pre-pandemic levels, but also that UK tourists are set to spend the most out of any Nationality as they look for more luxurious alternatives, without the long-haul flights and the high price tags.

The First Sector of Montenegro’s New Highway Finally Opens
It might have taken several years to build and surpassed the original deadline of May 209, but finally on the 13th July 2022 the Priority Section of Montenegro’s first Highway was opened, stretching around 41.5km from Smokovac near Podgorica to Matesevo near Kolasin. This section of the highway, partially built by a Chinese construction firm, stretches across Mountains whilst passing through 16 tunnels and 20 bridges. The full highway, once completed should be around 100 miles and will actually connect the resort of Bar in Montenegro to Boljare in Serbia.

The Summer Theatre Festival ‘Theatre City’ is Back in Budva
The Summer ‘Theatre City’ Festival is being welcomed back to Budva for the 36th time in its history, and lasting from the 7th July to the 31st August it transforms this beautiful and culturally important city into a ‘live stage’ with every one of its squares, plazas and piazzas playing host to a series of plays, musicals, live concerts and poem readings.

Investment in Montenegro Develops Further As Property Prices Increase by 7%
Montenegro is one of the world’s fastest growing tourist destinations of the modern era and as its economy continually demonstrates positive growth (bar the covid pandemic) it’s no surprise that there’s an influx of property investment throughout the major resorts, resulting in an average price increase of around 7%, with new builds rising by between 10% and 13%.
